Due to candy, costumes, and decorating, Halloween and falltime pumpkin carving can bring its share of carpet spots and stains. There are quite a few common carpet stains that can likely happen, being a fairly messy holiday. With this in mind, we at Deep Steam Carpet Cleaning would like to share a few tips on how to remove a few of the common Halloween spots and stains.
How to Remove Fake Blood Spills on Carpet
Blot with a clean rag or paper towels to absorb the liquid excess. With cold water, dab the spot carefully. Repeat the excess liquid removal step. Repeat these steps up to three times, if it still is ineffective, apply 3% hydrogen-peroxide to a cotton ball. Blot the remaining stain with a treated cotton ball and alternate with a dry one to manage the stain and liquid. To remove residual substances, follow the treatment with a water-damp cloth and blot well. Use a dry towel to blot the moisture and dry the area as best you can.
How to Get Rid of Glow Stick Carpet Stains
Promptly use a paper towel or clean rag to blot up as much of the moisture as possible. Be sure to work the outer perimeter and towards the center for better containment. With 1 cup of cool water, 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent, and ¼ cup distilled white vinegar, dip a soft-bristled brush in the solution and gently work out the stain. Be sure to rinse the area clean with a water-damp cloth to blot the surface and dry well with a clean towel.
Hot to Treat Pumpkin Stains on Carpet
With a blunt edged tool, a spatula or spoon for example, scrape the pumpkin pulp, seeds, or puree off the surface gently. Using blotting motions, gently work warm water into the stain via a warm water-dampen cloth. Use a treated cloth of a 2 cups cool water and 1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid solution to blot the stain. Alternate with the solution treated cloth and water-damp cloth until stain is removed. With a towel, dry the area.
How to Clean Chocolate Stains on Carpet
If there any chunks, scrape them off the surface with a spatula or spoon and then blot with a cold water to dampen cloth until the chocolate no longer transfers to cloth. Blot a cloth dampen by a solution made with 1 cup of water and ¼ tsp of mild dish soap, and blot, treat the spot and let it set for 5 minutes or so. Blot with a fresh cloth that is made damp with the solution. Once the stain is lifted, be sure to rinse the solution away using a fresh, clean, water damp cloth. Afterwards, use a clean towel to blot way as much moisture as possible.
How to Remove Sticky Taffy & Hard Candy from Carpet
Utilizing a paper towel and cool water to lightly moisten the candy to prevent damage to the carpet in the event it has become dry. Be sure all remnants of candy are removed before treating the stain residues. Lightly dab your fingers approximately ½ tsp of liquid dish soap and work the stain with your fingers. Permit the soap to set for a bit. Remove the soapy residue from the carpet with the assistance of a water-damp cloth and blot. Continue to blot the out any leftover residues with a cloth damp by distilled white vinegar. Let the vinegar sit for 5-10 minutes and follow up with water-damp cloth and remove the substances. Dry well with a towel.
